To Root Guru, Buddhas, Dharma and Sangha,
To Dharma Protectors, Assembly of Dakas and Dakinis,
To The male and female Tantric Vajrayana Tripas,
Due to the power of the Three Jewels,
With kindness and compassion for benefiting all male and female practitioners in the last existence,
To help them achieve the supreme Buddhahood.
And for you – those who generating the heartfelt devotion on me,
I strongly make the vast vows exactly as all that Lineage Gurus had done.
These vows are not spoken out of vanity, but rather out of the sake of all sentient beings.
I am known as the title of “Achievement of Buddha’s deeds”,
As well as a “Crazy Lama” whose wisdom destroys the wrong views of all sentient beings.
I have made these powerful vows against the Maras.
To the precious Three Jewels,
To The Lineage Gurus embodying the Conquerors,
To the Buddhas with ten supernatural powers,
To Dakas, Dakinis, Dharma Protectors, Nagas, Deities,
Please bless my following powerful vows for the benefits of all wholehearted practitioners .

Listen to my following sincere vows of the sentient being’s benefits that are true and not false! That’s because these vows are all made out of compassion and my achievement of fearlessness. Moreover, the cause and effect really exist and there is nothing in this world more noble than Buddhahood.
To be convinced that the Dharma is the absolute truth, I have no fear with intense faith.
Because of my heartfelt wishes, my Guru – His Holiness 25th Dharmaraja Kadham Trichen Rinpoche incessantly blessed and revealed to me the truths with his boundless compassion. There is no good deed more noble than shouldering the Guru-Given assignments of saving the six-realm sentient beings.
Obviously realizing my responsibilities in this life, I incessantly pray to the Guru and the Three Jewels, just as Buddhas of the past did. Therefore, I also uttered the vows without any dishonesty. If these are all only for my own self-interest but not for the sake of sentient beings, I would not dare to make the pure vows in front of the Three Jewels. All these truthful words are completely uttered from my unconditional selflessness.
Because the Three Jewels are true, the Dharma is true, the law of cause and effect is true, and the truth is as brilliant as the sunshine. May the pure truth spread far and wide to benefit all sentient beings.
I am His Holiness 17th Kadam Kyabje Dongchen Chotrul Rinpoche uttering the following vows in front of the Three Jewels, the Guru, Dharma Protectors, the assembly of Dakas and Dakinis on behalf of my great Guru whose title is “His Holiness 25th Dharmaraja”. Please listen, grant and give the blessings for my pure vows towards the benefit of sentient beings. My own obtained merits are all offered to My Venerable Guru – His Holiness Kadham Trichen Serkyong Tritul!
O practitioners, listen with the most sincere devotion. I am Dongchen Rinpoche who will become your Guru making the great vows for reciprocating your devotion. Listen with your heartfelt devotion under the witness of the Three Jewels, Dharma Protectors, the assembly of Dakas and Dakinis, Devas. I strongly utter the following sincere vows:
First Vow:
If you believe and take refuge in me with true devotion and pure faith, you will receive the blessings of all the lineage Gurus, Deities, and Dharma Protectors. For your Buddhahood, I vow to shoulder all your boundless karmas in many lifetimes to give you the best favourable conditions for practicing the Dharma.
Second Vow:
If you believe and take refuge in me with true devotion and pure faith, you will receive the blessings of all the lineage Gurus, Deities, and Dharma Protectors. I vow to bear all of your afflictions to give you the best favourable conditions for practicing the Dharma.
Third Vow:
If you believe and take refuge in me with true devotion and pure faith, you will receive the blessings of all the lineage Gurus, Deities, and Dharma Protectors. I vow not to own any personal property, but all of these belong to the Three Jewels so that I can perform virtuous deeds to benefit sentient beings.
Fourth Vow:
If you believe and take refuge in me with true devotion and pure faith, you will receive the blessings of all the lineage Gurus, Deities, and Dharma Protectors. I vow to have no distinction between rich and poor ones, but to fulfill all your wishes with the whole own merits and incessant Dharma practice.
Fifth Vow:
If you believe and take refuge in me with true devotion and pure faith, you will receive the blessings of all the lineage Gurus, Deities, and Dharma Protectors. I vow to give you the most splendid benefits with the utmost of my power without tiredness to bring the best favourable conditions of your Dharma practice.
Sixth Vow:
If you believe and take refuge in me with true devotion and pure faith, you will receive the blessings of all the lineage Gurus, Deities, and Dharma Protectors. I vow to accompany you until you reach Buddhahood without discouragement.
Seventh Vow:
If you believe and take refuge in me with true devotion and pure faith, you will receive the blessings of all the lineage Gurus, Deities, and Dharma Protectors. I vow to manifest many skillful means in all your lifetimes to help you get rid of sufferings and attain Buddhahood.
Eighth Vow:
If you believe and take refuge in me with true devotion and pure faith, you will receive the blessings of all the lineage Gurus, Deities, and Dharma Protectors. I vow to purify and eliminate all your diseases even if I have to carry the boundless bad karmas.
Ninth Vow:
If you believe and take refuge in me with true devotion and pure faith, you will receive the blessings of all the lineage Gurus, Deities, and Dharma Protectors. I vow to receive your entire karmic forces in several hundred thousand lifetimes so that your mind can be pure and then quickly attain Buddhahood.
Tenth Vow:
If you believe and take refuge in me with true devotion and pure faith, you will receive the blessings of all the lineage Gurus, Deities, and Dharma Protectors. I vow that I will sleep on the porch to protect you if you recite my mantra under any circumstances. If you recite my mantra in daytime, I will perform the buddhas’ power and compassion to listen and help you fulfill all your wishes. If you recite my mantra at night, I will also keep you safe on sleep. I vow to bless and fulfill all your wishes whenever you recite my mantra.
Eleventh Vow:
If you generate pure devotion to me, I then will make vast offerings for you. As long as you have enough heartfelt devotion, even if your sins make you down into Avici Hell, I will still purify them for you. I vow to transmit you all my own achievements and blessings at all times. All evil ghosts and spirits must also be kept away with daring not to harm you. For reciprocating your proper devotion, I will ride on a five-colored cloud to give you all blessings and accomplishment.
Twelfth Vow:
If you generate pure devotion to me, I will shoulder even your heaviest works and subdue all hindrances, causing all to be peaceful and accomplished.
Thirteenth Vow:
Those who have faith in me, prostrate or worship my image even just once with pure faith, I vow to receive the evil retribution of the five deadly sins, poverty and all suffering for them. For their sake, may I dedicate all my merits to benefit them.
Fourteenth Vow:
For the sake of all sentient beings, I vow to dedicate all the merit that I have accumulated, not even minor ones to everyone who has taken refuge in me or not, even just admires or hears my name and then arise a pure devotion, they will immediately be freed from the three sufferings worlds and forever rest in peace and happiness.
Fifteenth Vow:
I vow to live a poverty ascetic life to shoulder all the sufferings of poverty and distress of sentient beings to help them have favorable conditions to practice the Dharma.
Sixteenth Vow:
I vow to receive all the negative karma of falling into hell from sentient beings – those alive or dead, and vow to always bestow blessings and share all my merits towards their peace.
Seventeenth Vow:
If any sentient being has even the slightest faith in the Buddha – Dharma – Sangha, I vow to bless and lead them to the pure land Potala.
I am His Holiness 17th Kadam Kyabje Dongchen Chotrul Rinpoche who has pure faith, fervent devotion and sincerely aspires to the path of Liberation, makes powerful vows without fearness. Even if my body is dead, my mind will always be with you. Wherever your sincere devotion is towards me, I will always come by your side.
The above vows, strongly uttered all for your Buddhahood achievement, are not false or just for the sake of ego enhancement, but all come from my love and compassion.
All those who believe, adore and take refuge in me, I will never abandon you. No matter what kind of person you are, I will protect and love you with all my heart.
